It is always amazing when science validates something related to with God, spirituality or prayer. Today, there was another such finding.
A group of people were asked to do one of two things:
a. Think as hard as they could about something; or
b. Pray about something.
Scientists have known that simply “trying really hard,” mentally, does not stop the coping process from breaking down after long periods of stress. After giving several different mental “stress” tests to research subjects, it was learned that prayer really does work better than trying really hard. This can be carried over to keeping a lid on anger and reactions, drinking, dieting and other stressful conditions.
An interesting byproduct of this study is that the debilitating effect of constant stress was nonexistent in those study participants who exercised prayer.
“Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
